Saramonic UwMic9 SP-RX9

Description

The Saramonic UwMic9 SP-RX9 is both a receiver and mixer dedicated to filming with a smartphone or camera. A great solution for high quality audio when shooting online streams, youtube videos, vlogs or interviews and conferences.

As an option, the UwMic9 system also offers transmitters that can be combined with the SP-RX9 receiver: the TX-XLR9 transmitter with phantom power (+48V) or the HU9 handheld microphone with built-in transmitter.

Applications

The SP-RX9 is both a receiver, which allows the signal to be received simultaneously from two transmitters, and a separate mixer for use with an external microphone. At the bottom of the unit is a 1/4″ thread for photo tripods and gimbals. The aluminium handle included in the kit can also be used as a stabiliser. On the back of the receiver, there is a handle designed to accommodate a smartphone or other device. The spacing of the mount ranges from 65 to a maximum of 87 millimetres.

On the side panels on either side of the receiver, you will find a number of inputs and outputs that serve designated applications:

Functions and capabilities

The SP-RX9 is easy to use, allowing us to synchronise devices using auto-scan or infrared functions. The UwMic9 system operates in the secure UHF radio frequency band from 514 to 596 MHz. It has up to 96 transmission channels to choose from, giving us the possibility to expand the sets up to 48 transmitters and 24 receivers in total. The “+” and “-” buttons allow quick and convenient menu navigation. Detailed information on the display functions can be found in the operating instructions.

Range

The manufacturer specifies a system range of up to 100 metres in free space and up to 60 metres in a space with obstacles. Our tests proved that the distance from the receiver to the transmitter in an open area can reach up to 130 metres without obstructions.

Charging

The receiver is equipped with an internal rechargeable battery, so we do not have to worry about an extra set of batteries. We will use the USB/USB-C cable to charge the built-in battery (5V DC).

The receiver and transmitter housings are made of high-quality aluminium, which guarantees a high-quality product. To make work easier before recording, adjust the volume levels using the headphone input and headphones. We recommend reading the instruction manual before use.
