Description

The Aputure Amaran AL-MX is a small LED light created to work where large, heavy lighting equipment cannot be used. It is ideal for use with a gimbal, during travel and in unusual locations. AL-MX surprises with the power of the emitted light, despite the fact that it easily fits in your pocket.

Variable colour temperature

The Aputure AL-MX lamp uses two types of SMD LEDs, generating light with different colour temperatures:

• 2800 K – warm white light similar in colour to incandescent light
• 6500 K – cold white light similar in colour to daylight in slightly overcast conditions and flash light

Thanks to the functionality of varying the intensity of the light generated by individual groups of LEDs, the lamp offers the possibility to adjust not only the power, but also the colour temperature of the light. This makes it easy to combine multiple sources of continuous and flash light. The extended colour range of the lamp is also noteworthy. While the competition boasts a range of 3200 K – 5500 K, the Aputure AL-MX pushes the boundaries by offering a much wider range of 2800 K – 6500 K.

Perfect light quality

The excellent colour reproduction of the emitted light is evidenced by the high CRI and TLCI values. These indicate the degree of similarity of the light to the spectrum of natural sunlight and range from 0 to 100. The higher the value, the better the colour rendering of the illuminated objects – they look more natural. A value above 95 guarantees colour fidelity and correctly reproduced depth of tone.

Pocket size, great power and Boost mode

Despite its small size – about the size of a credit card – the AL-MX lamp surprises with its enormous power. 128 state-of-the-art, high-performance SMD LEDs generate light with an intensity of up to 880 lux (at a distance of 0.5 m). If this is still not enough, the Boost function comes to the rescue, allowing the maximum lamp power to be increased by 30% (in 60 second intervals).

Efficient battery and stable operation

Top quality lithium polymer cells and advanced algorithms ensure long and stable lamp operation regardless of the battery charge. The high capacity of 1800 mAh allows continuous operation for up to four hours, and the USB-C port allows for quick top-ups.

Convenient control

The lamp’s control panel has been placed in an easily accessible location on top of the device. Convenient to use intuitive buttons and switches ensure freedom of operation even when wearing gloves. Four blue LED indicators clearly show the current battery level.

Compact and robust

The AL-MX’s aerospace aluminium alloy housing not only looks good, but also provides excellent protection and efficient cooling for the electronics housed inside. The low weight and compact design of the device are also important factors that users will appreciate, especially when transporting and travelling. The small size and standard tripod mount allow the flash to be easily attached to a camera, camcorder, rig or gimbal.
