A voltage converter

A voltage converter converts the mains voltage into a higher or lower voltage. This way you can use devices that come from abroad in the Netherlands without breaking them. This is because in some other countries a different voltage is supplied by the mains. In America, for example, 110V/AC is used instead of the 230V/AC that we use here in the Netherlands. To ensure that devices from, for example, America can be used in the Netherlands, you need a voltage converter. This can then convert the voltage from 230 volts to 110 volts, without the device breaking down.

In order for a voltage converter to work properly, the power of the converter must be equal to or higher than that of the device to which you are going to connect it. To do this, first check the device and the maximum power it can consume. This is usually indicated on the product or on the adapter itself. In this way you find out what minimum power the voltage converter must deliver. For example, if you have a device with 500 Watts, your voltage converter will also need a minimum power of 500 Watts. When the inverter cannot handle the power, the power supply will not work and it may break down.
